VIPs visit New Star Patchway!

New Star Patchway were pleased to welcome Kate Howey to our club on Tuesday to present our Bronze Clubmark Award. Also in attendance were Karen French, Regional Developemnt officer for the BJA; Kim Hazeldine, Sports development manager - South Glos Council; Kathy Bevan, Bristol County judo Treasurer; Mike Guaitieri, Technical Adviser - Bristol County Judo & Head Coach - Yate Star Judo club.

What a Fantastic evening, it was great for the children to have Kate Howey come to the club, as many of them know her from our annual Brean Judo camp. To our players Kate is the David Beckham of judo! Karen French commented that having achieved the Bronze Club mark standard we had inspired other local clubs to follow suit. Achieving the award, is not only good for the club, but also for Bristol County Judo and Patchway area.

Club Mark is like a kite mark, Parents can bring their children to the club, knowing that the club is run by volunteers who are passionate about their club being a safe, well run accesssible, "child focused" club. To achieve the award, our volunteer coaches & club officials have attended various courses, as the ongoing training of all involved in the running the club is extremely important.
